Abstract

The search for sustainable binders represents a concern of the construction industry. The use of commercial gypsum plaster in mortars made with lime and pozzolans was already shown in the literature; however, the reuse of recycled gypsum plaster (RG) in ternary binders is still unknown. The present study evaluated the influence of RG in mixtures of lime and metakaolin. Physical-chemical-mechanical analyzes were conducted in pastes and mortars. The results showed that the RG addition increased the setting times and fluidity and improved mechanical strengths. The results indicated the possibility of using RG as a sustainable material for ternary binders.
