Abstract

A wideband printed microstrip-line-fed slot antenna with a pair of parasitic strips has been demonstrated. Experimental results show that a wideband operation for WiMAX operation can be obtained. And the impedance bandwidth, determined by 10 dB return loss, reaches nearly 4040 MHz, which is about 97.35%. The radiation patterns have been measured and presented by E- and H-planes, and they are similar to those of conventional slot antenna. From measured results, antenna gain variation can be less than 2 dBi within this wide impedance bandwidth of the WiMAX system.
