Abstract

This work proposes a novel configuration of microstrip array antenna with very low cross polarization. The feed circuits are composed of microstrip lines on a surface and slot lines on the reverse side of a dielectric substrate. It is clarified that the array antenna proposed here is very successful for the suppression of cross polarization. A microstrip array antenna with 4-elements is designed. The directivity is measured, and it is confirmed that the array antenna has an excellent suppression of the cross polarization, that is, better than -30 dB in all directions.
