Abstract

Summary: Thirteen Danish patients (< 15 years of age) with Microsporum canis infection of the scalp were analysed. It was not possible to find any relationship between the affection of the scalp and other diseases, including dermatological diseases. Various explanations of the discrepancy between the incidence of Tinea capitis in children and in adults infected with M. canis are discussed. Zusammenfassung: 13 danische Patienten im Alter von 15 Jahren oder alter mit Microsporum canis Infektionen des behaarten Kopfes wurden untersucht. Es war nicht moglich, irgendwelche Beziehungen zwischen der Kopfhauterkrankung und anderen Erkrankungen einschlieslich dermatologischer Krankheiten herzustellen. Zahlreiche Erklarungsversuche uber die Diskrepanz zwischen der Haufigkeit von Tinea capitis durch Microsporum canis bei Kindern und bei Erwachsenen werden diskutiert.
