Abstract

This paper proposes a microscopic spectrum control technique using a carrier interferometry (CI) to achieve an adaptive modulation based one-cell reuse broadband single carrier time division multiple access (TDMA) system. In the proposed systems, in order to reduce peak to average power ratio (PAPR) and to improve robustness to inter-cell interference (ICI), we employ a CI technique that equivalently generate a single carrier waveform using the same waveform generation with orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM). As for improvement of robustness to ICI, an adaptive spectrum selection according to the received signal to interference plus noise power ratio (SINR) is introduced as a microscopic spectrum control technique when lower symbol rate is selected in the adaptive modulation scheme (AMS). Computer simulation confirms that the proposed scheme is effective in improvement of ICI immunity.
