Abstract

For a dense gas mixture of helium ( n 1 = 10.5nm -3 ) and neon ( n 2 = 17.9nm -3 ) at 47 K we determine by means of neutron scattering, computer simulations and hard-sphere kinetic theory the decay frequencies of fluctuations in the total number density, the density of He-particles and the density of Ne-particles for wave numbers 2 k -1 . The results of the three methods agree.
