Abstract

In recent years, many calculations1,2,3 have been reported on three and four body nuclear systems with realistic interactions. The most recent calculations indicate that a microscopic model with realistic two and three nucleon interactions can accurately predict many properties of both 3He and 4He. Calculations of p-shell nuclei will be very valuable as a further test of these interactions. As a first step toward this goal, we have calculated the low energy alpha nucleon phase shifts for the J-1/2 and J-3/2 states. These initial results are for the Reid V84 interaction plus the Urbana Model V1 three nucleon interaction (TNI).
