Abstract

Abstract Measurements of total internal reflection–fluorescence recovery after photobleaching were carried out for rhodamine B at the toluene/water interface. The experimental apparatus was optimized for measuring the fast diffusion of small molecules such as rhodamine B. The obtained diffusion coefficient was (4.5 ± 0.9) × 10−10 m2 s−1, which almost agreed with the value calculated with the Stokes–Einstein equation.
