Abstract

The paper describes a microprocessor-orientated 50-kW direct current to three-phase variable frequency thyristor inverter which is suitable for induction machine speed and/or torque control. The microprocessor in real time analyzes speed and torque requirements, current and rotor speed feedback signals and calculates output frequency requirements. The microprocessor directly controls the main thyristor inverter bridge and all commutation circuitry.
