Abstract
This paper represents a microprocessor based on-line temperature monitoring, Control and protection scheme. This scheme can be used with (i) thermistor sensors (ii) semiconductor diode sensors (iii) thermocouple sensors and (iv) resistance wire sensors. The system requires only different look-up tables with different sensors without changing the basic scheme. The scheme offers attractive compactness and flexibility and may find wide application in industry.
