Abstract Major finding: Mitotic errors produce micronuclear DNA that can be incorporated into the genome.Mechanism: Defective, asynchronous DNA replication damages chromosomes in micronuclei.Impact: Whole-chromosome aneuploidy can cause DNA damage and potentially produce mutations.
