Abstract

MicroNET provides a graphical, screen-oriented computer program to manipulate equal-area and equal-angle nets. Intended for classroom and daily geologic use, the program will plot data rapidly, contour data, rotate data, and select great circle girdles. The program removes the tedium of plotting many point, and allows the user to concentrate on interpretation of results. This makes MicroNET ideal for students and geologists interested in “what if” ways of combining or dividing data. MicroNET will produce output on a dot-matrix printer that approaches publication quality; printer output can be given to a draftsman to produce final copy if needed.
