Abstract
A new micromechanics damage model is proposed by averaging distributed microcracks with cohesive zones in a two dimensional representative volume element. The cohesive microcracks are mode-III Dugdale-Bilby-Cottrell-Swinden (Dugdale-BCS) crack. The damage model may be used to construct plasticity potentials that take into account the presence of such microcracks.
