Abstract

The effect of the Ampere field and the external field on the dynamics of the spin transfer torque (STT) magnetisation switching process calculated by full micromagnetic simulation at finite temperature is reported. The following three cases are studied: (1) parallel (P) to anti-parallel (AP) switching with large current, (2) AP to P switching with small current, and (3) P to AP switching with small current when the external magnetic field is applied to the hard anisotropic axis. The system used in this study is CoFe/Ru/CoFe/Cu/NiFe. The domain structure of the material is also studied.
