Abstract

A further development of the authors' technique for microdetermination of free hydroxyproline in serum is reported. Free hydroxyproline can be estimated quickly in 0.2 ml of serum with an error of about 1.5%. In 40 healthy subjects, determined by the microtechnique, the average serum level of hydroxyproline was 1.56 ± 0.09 μg per ml (SD = 0.60).
