Abstract

Microfinance institution offer its members with financial and social intermediation service to help improve their businesses. The consequence of microfinance intervention on the empowerment of women entrepreneurs in rural populations of remains largely unfamiliar in Jaffna are the main objective of this research to determine the effect of microfinance intervention on women’s empowerment. This research also forced on three sub objectives: To establish the effecting factor of micro credit on women’s empowerment, to examine the effect of micro savings on women’s empowerment and to determine the effect of training on empowerment of women. The data collected was analyzed by using both descriptive and inferential analysis. The Sanasa Development Bank clients in Jaffna district were selected for the sample. The collection and multiple linear regression analysis were used to determine the effect of micro finance interventions on women’s empowerment. The results show that micro credit significantly and positively effects on empowerment of women’s entrepreneurs’ at the level of 5%. Clients of micro finance should be awareness of this matter. They have lack of knowledge of micro finance. The study makes policy recommendation to guide and development of micro finance intervention.
