Abstract

Abstract The purpose of this paper is to present the construction of a microcomputer loop communication network for digital control system development. The network consists of a primary station (Motorola EXORset 30 single user microcomputer developing system) and four secondary stations (Motorola MEK6809D4B monoboard microcomputer). By virtue of this network, programs at secondary stations can be sent to the primary station to be assembled or stored in floppy disk. Each secondary station may be used as a micro‐controller in a digital control system, once the associated program is successfully developed. Both hardware and software work is required for the construction of the network. The hardware work is to build MC6854 ADLC interface cards that connect the buses of the primary and the secondary stations. The software work includes the development of communication programs for both the primary and the secondary stations and a control program for the floppy disk operating system at the primary station.
