Abstract

Simplified adaptive algorithms wich can be implemented in low cost microcomputer controllers are considered in this paper. Recent developements in the field and some solutions which are not very widely spread until now are presented in some details. The on-line identification problem is specially treated and a very economical and efficient algorithm is given. Minimum-variance, generalized quadratic criteria and self-tunning PID regulators are also discussed, emphasizing the computing requirements needed for this implementation. It is concluded that with the existing repertoire of methods and algorithms, the simplified adaptive regulators are today a very atractivo solution for many control problems in industry.
