Abstract

A microcomputer-controlled rainfall simulator is described. The simulator modules utilize oscillating nozzles similar to the simulators described by Neibling et al. (1981) and Moore et al. (1983). The unique feature of this simulator is full computer control using a parallel printer port rather than a special digital or analog output board. Software was developed to generate a uniform or variable intensity simulation event. Separate software generates the necessary data file to simulate a storm with an SCS Type n or a user-defined intensity distribution.
