Abstract
Both enantiomers of pantoyl lactone were obtained in high optical purity by enantioselective hydrolysis of racemic O-acetylpantoyl lactone using lyophilized cells of Saccharomyces cerevisiae Hansen or lipase from Aspergillus sp.
