Abstract

A micro-tomographic system developed at BL47XU in SPring-8 (SP-μCT47XU) was used to obtain three-dimensional structures of synthetic and natural substances for a test study. Al 2 O 3 -YAG eutectic composites. synthetic quartzites (SiO 2 ) and Antarctic micro-meteorites (AMMs) were successfully imaged with the spatial resolution of 1μm three-dimensionally. Three-dimensional elemental distribution was also obtained using X-ray adsorption edge of Fe in the measurement of an AMM.
