Abstract

In the present work, investigate the mechanical and microstructural characterization of friction stir (FS) welded dissimilar joint of Cu free (Cu-OF) and aluminum alloy AA1050 alloy. Maximum mechanical properties like Tensile strength obtain was 93% of AA10150 aluminum alloy with the crack path on the aluminum alloy side. The tensile behavior of the FS welded joint was significantly influenced by FSW process parameters (tool offset and welding speed). The 150 mm/min of welding speed and 1 mm offset of FSW process parameter was produced the defect-free joint. The defect-free joint identifies by using optical microscope (OM) analysis.
