Abstract

Magnetic date palm fiber-WSe2 (mDPF@WSe2) nanocomposite were synthesized by using hydrothermal synthesis and characterized by XRD, FTIR, and SEM for microsolid phase extraction (µ-SPE) of cobalt at trace levels. The analytical parameters such as pH, sample and eluent volumes, amount of 1-nitroso-2-naphthol as ligand and sorbent amounts, and eluent type were optimized. The influences of the matrix components were also examined. The limit of detection (LOD), the limit of quantification (LOQ), and relative standard deviation (%RSD) were calculated as 1.73 μg L−1, 5.78 μg L−1 and 3.2 respectively. The developed method was applied to NCS ZC73032 celery, NCS ZC73033 scallion and TMDA 64.3 fortified water-certified reference materials for method validation. The application of the µ-SPE method was performed for the determination of cobalt levels of food, tobacco, and water samples from Kayseri-Turkey.
