Abstract
A method for eliminating the effect of transverse surface fields on electron beam test measurements is discussed. The technique is based upon creating micro-extraction field conditions for the emitted secondary electrons at the point of test. The method can readily be incorporated into normal microprocess technology or be implemented by the use of a Focussed Ion Beam machine.
