Abstract
This paper summarizes Belize’s reform process to simplify the legal framework and modernize its business climate for Micro Enterprises. The reform process encompasses: (1) simplified access to formality, (2) legal reform, (3) boosting private sector development for small businesses, and (4) increasing job creation. Belize’s reform aims to fast-tracking the formalization of Micro Enterprises, irrespective of physical location. Belize’s reforms place Micro Enterprises as key economic actors within the economy.
