Abstract

The numerical investigation of the mixed convection transport of Carreau fluid due to stretched sheet, along with the combined effect of MHD and first-order chemical reaction is taken into account. The energy equation is modified by considering the effect of the Cattaneo-Christov heat flux. The boundary layer equations of the problem are transformed into the structure of dimensionless coupled ordinary differential equations by utilizing the appropriate similarity variables. These equations of the problem are solved numerically via BVP4c. The main outcome of the problem is that the relaxation time enhanced the fluid temperature while the chemical parameter declined the concentration profile. Moreover, the mixed convection effect increases the fluid velocity of the stretching sheet. The physical quantities like fluid velocity, temperature, concentration, friction at the wall, mass, and heat flux for the variation of several pertinent parameters are discussed graphically and in tabular form.
