Abstract

The problem of blood flow in a channel with Stenosis under the influence of an Unsteady Uniform Magnetic Field is studied. The Mathematical Model used for the formulation of the problem is consistent with the principles of Magnetohydrodynamics (MHD). Blood is considered as a Homogenous Newtonian fluid with an electrically conducting magnetic fluid. The Finite Volume discretization scheme in curvilinear coordinates is utilized for the discretization of the system of equations governing the MHD flow of blood. For the numerical solution of the problem, with a coupled, nonlinear system of PDEs, with suitable boundary conditions are solved using MATLAB. Results dealing with the velocity, pressure, and skin friction indicates the presence of the magnetic field influences considerably the fluid field.
