Abstract
Summary The influence of tetrahydropterin, p-chlorphenylalanine, CuCl, L-cysteiniumchlorid and FeSO 4 on the accumulation of tyrosine, DOPA and betacyanin in callus of Portulaca gradiflora , var. JR was investigated. The possible existence of a tyrosine and a separate DOPA accumulating enzyme was suggested due to the effects of the inhibitors and cofactors, respectively, of these enzymes.
