Abstract

MARVIN ALISKY is an assistant professor of Radio-Television and Journalism and news director of Radio-Television Service at Indiana University. Mr. Alisky has previously published articles on Latin-American broadcasting in the Quill, Nieman Reports, Inter-American Economic Affairs, Journal of the AERT, Hispanic American Historical Review, and Journalism Quarterly. The following article is based on the author's personal research into Mexican broadcasting from 1947 to 1953, including inspection trips to eighty different radio stations in various parts of Mexico.
