Abstract
Denote by An/Bn, n =0, 1, ... the sequence of convergents of the nearest integer continued fraction expansion of the irrational number x. For almost all x the limiting distributions of the sequences Bn−1Bnand|x−AnBn|:|x−An−1Bn−1|,n=1,2,... are determined. Similar results are obtained for Hurwitz's singular continued fraction.
