Abstract

Fabric used by pesticide handlers, mixers, and applicators may be soiled by body oils, and by oily soils associated with equipment operation. Oily soil may enhance contamination and/or may inhibit residue removal. This study was undertaken to determine whether the oily soils (synthetic sebum and vegetable oil) applied onto fabric specimens and then laundered prior to contamination, contributed to pesticide absorption and retention of 1.25% methyl parathion (MeP).
