Abstract

To the Editor: Mucous membrane pemphigoid (MMP) represents a group of chronic and progressive subepithelial blistering disorders.1 Although much of the existing literature is focused on treatment of high-risk sites such as conjunctival mucosa, oral involvement is the most common and can cause significant dysfunction.2 Additionally, long-term uncontrolled inflammation may lead to dental caries and loss of alveolar bone.3 Topical corticosteroids are first-line therapy for mild and slowly progressive oral MMP but can be difficult to apply and/or may provide inadequate relief.
