Abstract

Abdominal cryptorchidism is a complicated problem of pediatric urology and society, since it leads to infertility and sexual disability of patients. The aim of this work was to establish optimal methods of treatment of abdominal cryptorchidism in children. The methods of the surgical interventions are analyzed: bringing down the testicle into the scrotum with orchidopexy by Petrivalsky-Schumacher, the operation of the long loop duct by Fowler-Stephens, stepwise moving the testis by Cabot-Nesbit and Cart wright-Snyder methods. The way of the surgical intervention should be based on the presence (or absence) of: atrophy, hypoplasia of the testis, short spermatic cord, development of collaterals vessels of the spermatic cord, the tension of testicular vessels while bringing down the testicle into the scrotum. In children with abdominal cryptorchidism the operation of bringing down the testis into the scrotum with orchidopexy by Petrivalsky-Schumacher method is possible in 57,14%, by Fowler-Stephens – 22,86%, stepwise moving the testis – 20%.
