Abstract
The article examines peculiarities of formation and development of scientific research skills and competencies of university students majoring in information, library and archival affairs. Main factors and directions of expanding the means of development research competences’ forms are analyzed: traditional (auditory and extra-auditory research) and innovative ones – participation in scientific exchanges, co-working and networking, joining open databases, project activities of students in the context of Open Science.
