Abstract
Generalized Kirchhoff's law for flows in networks is modelled by a system of linear inequalities that has the structure of the corresponding graph. In the case when the graph has more than one cycle, certain difficulties arise in solving such a system of inequalities. This paper proposes a method for replacing a cycle in the graph by a star.
