Abstract
The susceptibility to soft rot caused byErwinia carotovora subsp.atroseptica of five potato cultivars and potato clones from the potato breeding programme at Jogeva Plant Breeding Institute was assessed in a laboratory test. Three test methods were used: a single site inoculation, vacuum infiltration and slice inoculation. The severity of the disease varied widely with the different methods, which gave different cultivar rankings.
