Abstract

There will be large residual stress after welding, and the residual stress will affect the service life of the aluminum alloy welding structure. Therefore, aluminum alloy welding residual stress needs to be accurately detected. Compared with the lossy method, the nondestructive testing method can produce negligible damage to aluminum alloy, which will not affect the reuse of aluminum alloy and can detect the residual stress. This paper summarizes the nondestructive testing methods of welding residual stress in aluminum alloy and their advantages, disadvantages, and applicability, which lay a foundation for rapid nondestructive testing of welding residual stress in aluminum alloy.
