Abstract

When using frames in applications we are confronted with the problem of the numerical computation of the inverse frame operator. Since in general the frame operator is acting in an infinite-dimensional Hilbert space we have to approximate its inverse by some finite-dimensional methods. In this chapter we review some methods for approximation of the inverse frame operator associated to general frames and develop more specific methods for Gabor frames.
