Abstract

In connection with the current realities, the learning process takes on a new look and requires a different approach to the current conditions in the world. Unfortunately, now the focus of society is shifting from the educational process to more important needs, which is why it is so important to motivate children to learn, and this can be done with the help of educational methods and techniques that the teacher should use to attract students to the study of the subject. Motivation is one of the determining factors for the effectiveness and success of any process, primarily educational. It is formed on the basis of the mechanism of interaction between internal and external motives, where internal motives are more important, which give rise in the mind of the child to incentives for educational and cognitive activity. The internal motive in its “foundation” has a struggle of needs, and if the need for new knowledge is strong, then with the help of volitional efforts, a person’s motivation is formed. So, the main task of the teacher is to increase the students’ need for learning, then motivation will appear. Methods and techniques become a driving force – tools for the implementation of this task. Such methods and techniques for increasing the level of motivation include: the method of knowledge relevance (techniques “Useful in life”, “Modernity” and “Passion”), the method of independence (the “Geographic edcamp” technique), the method of interactivity (the technique “Yes”, to technology!), the method of strong-willed efforts (reception “Persuasion”). Based on the use of these methods, fragments of a lesson in geography on the topic “Ukraine on a map of time zones” for students in grades 8 and another lesson on the topic “Shells of the Earth” for grades 6 were developed. During the development, the interactivity method and the actualization method were used. In the structure of the elements of the lesson were used the following techniques: the “Virtual excursion” technique, the “Geographical events” technique, “Situational task”, “Lyrical digression”, “Test minute”. All these methods and techniques interest, attract, motivate students to learn and learn new things, because they are new, bright, carried out in a part-game form, which is interesting at any age.
