Abstract
Ecological problems, their global character, and their particular manifestations in each region of the planet require that a conscious, responsible attitude be taken toward the environment and that entrenched notions about the inexhaustibility of natural resources and the possibility of conquering nature be given up. Failure to take account of the laws of ecological dynamics and stability can result in enormous harm to humankind and to all life on Earth.
