Abstract

Despite the abundance and quite high methodological level of studies within the framework of cognitive psychology, more and more authors, including eminent representatives of cognitive psychology itself, have begun in recent years to undertake a critical assessment of the relationship between the efforts expended and actual progress. There has even emerged a notable opposition to extreme and overly hasty generalizations based on particular achievements in the domain of artificial intelligence and computer vision, achievements that continue to have a tremendous influence on cognitive psychology [1,2].
