Abstract
This paper is dedicated to the discussion of some issues connected with the commonly applied methods to analyze radiation hardening using nanoindentation on ion-irradiated samples. These issues mainly comprise the sample surface preparation, the indentation measurement mode, pile-up and softer substrate effect, then the indentation size effect, especially applicability of the Nix-Gao model in the investigated depth range.
