Abstract

Purpose. The article is devoted to the description of methodical approaches and techniques, ways to develop professional competencies of teachers to improve the quality of the educational process in modern Russian universities.
 Methodology. The main methods of research were the following: theoretical analysis (analyzing psycho-pedagogical and methodological literature, researching educational and methodological materials), empirical research (observation during the teachers’ class visits, filling out the class attendance checklist).
 Results. The main result of the article was a description of the basic principles of basic methodological training of teachers of higher education using modern educational technologies.
 Practical implications. The results of the research can be applied to the training of teaching staff and scientific-pedagogical workers, as well as in the field of additional professional education of teachers at Russian universities.
