The combination of these approaches will take into account the internal and external factors of a municipal units group. Conclusions. The geoeconomic approach helps consider municipal entities in the context of economic ties. The systems approach opens up opportunities for analysis of a selected group of municipalities. The incremental approach helps take into account the dynamic nature of the core-periphery relationships.
