Abstract

A short survey is given of what has been achieved in the PROMETHEUS-project VaMoRs-P at the Universität der Bundeswehr München during the last two years.A knowledge-oriented view at the project shows that knowledge packages have been used and processed in various ways. A certain structure is revealed, although it cannot be characterized as knowledge processing. The result is a highly efficient, autonomously working system. Nevertheless, it needs further development to make it reliable in very difficult situations as well. A comparison with concepts developed in modern psychology and in other cognitive disciplines comes up with ideas how some aspects of higher order mental processes can be introduced in autonomous systems. If this will be designed appropriately it can be expected in the long term that results of these disciplines can be applied in the field of autonomous systems, too.
