Abstract

Method validation of Copper (Cu) analysis in BCR 667 CRM estuarine sediment by Na2O2 dry digestion using Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer (AAS) had been conducted. Validity determination was measured on the linearity, the limit of detection (LoD) and limit of quantitation (LoQ), accuracy (%R), and precision (%RSD). The correlation coefficient linearity of the standard Cu curve, LoD, and LoQ were 0.9996, 0.0440 mg/L, and 0.1402 mg/L, respectively. Accuracy measurement had been carried out by calculating the percent recovery (%R) of 101.43%. Precision (%RSD) measurement was 1.93%. The copper concentration in sediment CRM BCR 667 was 58.63 mg/kg. This result was not significantly different from the Cu concentration in certificate of 60 mg/kg. It is concluded that determination of copper dry digestion with Na2O2 was valid in sediment analysis.
