Abstract

In this work, the multi‐element synthetic aperture method (n‐SAF) is presented in combination with a data reduction algorithm that reduces the number of signals intervening in the image processing. The proposed method, called nR‐SAF, simplifies the beamforming process by directly adding in phase all the signals that contribute to each element of the coarray (signals with same spatial frequency). By this method, a reduction of approximately 2/n of the data intervening in the beamforming process is attained.
