Abstract

This study aimed to introduce two methods of preparation of composites consisting of polypropylene-zinc compounds at the desired concentration. The composites have been prepared in the in-situ process of PP extrusion with parallel zinc compounds precursor dosing. Two types of stabilizers of Zn compounds particles (PEI branched and PVP) have been tested, and their influence on the masterbatch properties as melt mass-flow index (MFR), morphology, zinc concentration, size, and distribution of the particles has been checked. The influence of the methods of concentrating the composition (zinc additives) on the degree of dispersion and stability of the composite and assessed properties of the granulate was found. The conducted research allowed selection of the most effective method for such a process.
