Abstract
The characteristics of high-speed, uniaxial extension of short polymer jets obtained from solutions of polyacrylonitrile in dimethylformamide of different concentration were investigated. An analytical solution was obtained for the equation describing extension of a viscoelastic jet, the quantitative values of the elastic coefficients were found, and the dependence of the jet profile on this coefficient was demonstrated.
