Abstract

Representation of the thermodynamic properties of aqueous surfactant solutions may be accomplished using cubic splines fitted to experimental data by a nonlinear least-squares procedure. The procedure is demonstrated by fitting to activity and density data of aqueous alkyltrimethylammonium bromide surfactants. The advantages and disadvantages of this method are detailed.
